Visual Identity Bibliotheek Sint-Lukas Brussel

Above is a selection of my work for the visual identity, infographics, wayfinding and webdesign for the art library of Luca School of Arts, Brussels.

I based my design on the library's viewable, archived unique collections and their treasured library hamster / silk ribbon bookmark that forms the thread running through their multifaceted identity.

Large Hadron Collider

In the video above you can see an illustrated story about the Large Hadron Collider, the world's largest particle accellerator, located in Switzerland.

The posters below set the background for augmented reality animations that were worked out in more detail. The videos below the posters show these animations standalone.

Vinyl Cover Design

I designed a vinyl cover for the track “Today”, by Tirzah and Mura Masa, as I was intrigued by how multi-faceted it is. Overall, the music is quite dreamy, with the narrator jumping back and forth between the perspective of self from the past and their current perspective. There is an ambiguity in the tone of the song, ranging from happy and hopeful to sad and disappointed. I wanted to translate these aspects by using the vinyl as a sort of turntable that would change the look of the cover, depending on how it is positioned inside of it. On top of the cover is a mirroring sleeve, inviting the listener to look at the current self.

Book design Twice-Burned Library

This book was made for the text "The twice-burned libary" by Richard Ovenden.
I based my design on the duality of the narrative in the text, highlighting different perspectives on the burning of the books of the University Library of KU Leuven, Belgium, during the first and second World War.

Logo-ontwerp Haddok

haddok

I created the logo for Haddok in Ghent, a beautiful space serving delicious lunch, coffee and apero, with a sunset view on the water of the former port. I based the logo on the shapes of the windows and openings in the buildings of the old docks, as well as the robust blue crane alongside them.
